SpaceX approached AI coding startup Cognition about a potential acquisition, according to Bloomberg, as the company continues expanding beyond rockets and satellite connectivity into artificial intelligence.

Cognition, developer of the Devin coding agent, was valued at $26 billion in a May funding round. The reported acquisition talks did not progress, although Bloomberg said potential cooperation around SpaceX computing infrastructure remained under discussion. Cognition CEO Scott Wu subsequently disputed the acquisition report and said the company was not for sale.
