SpaceX agreed to acquire Grain Management’s nationwide 800 MHz spectrum portfolio, strengthening its push to build a full-scale Starlink Mobile service in the United States.

The transaction is reportedly valued at about $8 billion and remains subject to FCC approval. Low-band spectrum offers longer range and better indoor penetration than SpaceX’s existing 2 GHz holdings. Separately, the FCC approved a Starlink Mobile Gen2 constellation of 15,000 satellites optimized for direct-to-device connectivity.
