Databricks launched Unity AI Gateway into general availability, positioning the product as a centralized governance layer for enterprise AI models, agents, MCP servers and other AI tools.

The platform provides AI usage monitoring, budget controls, hard spending caps, security policies and model routing across multiple providers. Databricks said thousands of customers, including Rivian, Asana and Edmunds, already use the gateway, with more than a quadrillion tokens processed through it over the past year.
