Databricks expanded Genie One with public web search, allowing the enterprise AI assistant to answer questions requiring current external information and provide links to the sources it uses.

Databricks also enabled Genie One and Genie Agents to use models served through OpenAI on Databricks when partner-powered AI features are enabled. The updates broaden Genie from an internal data assistant into a tool that can combine governed enterprise information with external and third-party AI capabilities.
