Databricks acquired Row Zero, a cloud spreadsheet startup founded by former AWS and Tableau engineers. The company plans to integrate Row Zero directly into Genie, its AI coworker for enterprise users. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The integration will give finance, operations, sales and marketing teams a spreadsheet interface connected directly to governed enterprise data. Row Zero can work with billions of rows and will be available to Databricks customers across all major clouds.
